5 out of 5 stars Relief!   January 23, 2010

Great for Plantar Faciitus! Take some getting use to though and will take a week or two to feel effects. I use them exclusively in my slippers when in the house.

5 out of 5 stars Best orthotic for the money   December 24, 2009

This is the second pair I've had in the past year. Although the box says lifetime warrantee, that's not true. However, my first pair did last an entire year.

Custom made orthotics, as you know, are supremely expensive. I cannot imagine how much better $300.00 custom made orthotics are compared to these that I just bought for $30.00 here at Amazon.com. They are that good!

The local store where I bought these last year charged me $50.00 plus the exhorbitant CA plus LA County sales taxes, which totals to be the highest in the entire United States now.

I briefly scanned some of the other reviews and one thing did stand out for me: there is a break in time period before you can wear these constantly without any foot pain. But, once they are broken in for you particular feet and shoes, like me, you will fall in love with this product, no joke!

Although these can be worn in any shoes you have, I have found that using one pair per pair of different shoes helps me the best.

I use these with the black leather Brooks Addiction Walker shoes, which are $100.00 here on Amazon, so I will be buyting those, too, from Amazon in the future. The first two (2) pairs I purchased were bought locally for $120.00 plus the aforementioned sky high sales tax.

These Brooks have lasted me an entire year, as well. I bought a new pair about two weeks ago and then found the Pinnacle orthotics here at Amazon for only $30.00, full price, delivered to my door.

After putting the new pair in my new pair of Brooks shoes and walking around for a little while, I remembered why the break in period is needed.

I have tried numerous over the counter orthotics, and these Pinnacles are by far the absolute best ones, bar none.

Note: I wanted to try out the new Dr. Scholl's that are being advertised. I found them along with the machine that's supposed to accurately tell you which model is going to help you the most at a CVS. 1) They cost $50.00 plus tax; 2) I had to use the Dr. Scholl's machine numerous times to get a Dx for the model that is supposed to be the best for my feet (get the message?). The manner in which the Dr. Scholl's are packaged is extremely restrictive. They are packaged in very hard plastic with a very small hole with which to be able to stick your finger in it to feel them, etc., without opening the package just to check them out, which you cannot do because that is considered theft. Also, from what I could determine, there is zero toe support in the Dr. Scholl's orthotics.

Anyhow, I've digressed. Without any hesitation whatsoever, I wholeheartedly recommend the pinnacle orthotics without any reservations whatsoever. They are excellent and have helped me tremendously.

Just a note regarding shoes: I wanted to try the rocker walking shoes, you know, the ones that cost about $250.00 per pair. I cannot wear any of the brands because my right heel is too narrow and they feel like thongs when I try to walk in them (a bummer for me). Although I'm not rating the above noted Brooks shoes because it will be my next pair that I purchase from Amazon, for me, combined with the ortotics I am rating, I have not found any better combination of shoes + orthotics!

Lastly, I emphatically note that I have absolutely zero connection in any manner with Brooks or Pinnacle.

This combination of products, for me, has tremendously helped my lousy posture as well as pain due to medical conditions I shall not disclose.

Oh yeah, it looks like this review is only for the size I wear, but my review holds true for any size of these.

4 out of 5 stars you can feel the support right away, but not much cushion for the heel   September 2, 2009

not much cushion for the fat pad/heel, which wouldve been nice. i tried other insoles to support the arch, but when i tried these, i felt the support instantly. its an obvious difference. you desensitize yourself after a few minutes of being on them, but its there. good one!

1 out of 5 stars Bad Product, bad customer service   April 28, 2009

The Product:
For women who are not Sasquatch, these insoles are no better than arches you can buy in the supermarket for a third of the price.
They are inflexible, and can't be trimmed properly to fit a smaller foot, because the heel is a cup with a hard rim that abuts the back of your shoe. They are also absurdly wide, at least for any female foot I have ever seen.
The only place to make adjustments that won't wreck them for the intended purpose is the toe-end. But if you trim the toe, but not the heel, you'll end up with the ridge they claim is an arch support somewhere under the ball of you foot. Perhaps the pain that will cause will help you to forget the pain you bought them to alleviate.
For plantar fasciitis pain, you can get immediate & permanent relief by simple stretching exercises. Pretend you're in the ballet practicing rising to dance on your toes, up & down till it stops hurting, 5 times a day- complete relief that lasts. And you can wear any shoes you want without granny insolses from hell like these.
This book has instructions on stretching the ligament that is causing your pain, for the price of these insoles: The 5-Minute Plantar Fasciitis Solution by Jim Johnson (Paperback - Feb 7, 2008) Available in books- just search for plantar fasciitis.
The Vendor:
I rarely bother with requesting refunds, much less typing a review, and did not request a product refund. But I wrote to the seller requesting a refund of express delivery charges, because I paid for 2-day, and got the product on day 3. They wrote back: "Your order was imported into our system on Thursday," and refused, even though I placed the order the day before they "imported" it. To add insult to injury, they advised me I should have ordered it by overnight delivery if I wanted to get it in 2-days.

I now have 4 sets of these, distributed among various shoes. Really helps alleviate the plantar fasciitis (heal pain that for me came from running).
